Statements of support from President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were broadcast along with interviews from Haiti.

Ronald Cesar, Chief of the Creole Service of VOA says, "It is unfortunate that we cannot make contact with our affiliate stations and our stringers in Haiti because we have several stringers throughout the country, but we are continuing to provide what we do best."

Cesar says, "We would like to reassure our audience that we will be with them, as we have been for the past 24 years.

Voice of America's Creole Service has set up a special call-in number for messages that will be broadcast in Haiti.

The number is (202) 205-9942 mailbox number 42.

Facebook and Twitter accounts are also being created.
