SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Metrobus driver died after she was pinned between a concrete wall and the bus, officials say.
The incident happened around 3:34 p.m. at the White Oak Shopping Center located at New Hampshire Avenue and Lockwood Drive.
Thomasine Maria Smith, 47, the driver of the bus was pinned between a concrete retaining wall and the Metrobus, officials say.
According to initial investigation, the bus apparently began to move after Smith had exited the bus. When she tried to reach the brake through the driver side window, she was hit by the bus and pinned against the wall, officials said.
The Metrobus was not in service at the time of the incident and had no passengers.
