Michael Patrick, of the 1200 block of Autre Court in Rockville, Md., is charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of kidnapping and one count of firearm use in a crime of violence
ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Montgomery County man has been arrested for an Oct. 29 bank robbery and kidnapping.
Michael Patrick, of the 1200 block of Autre Court in Rockville, Md., is charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of kidnapping and one count of firearm use in a crime of violence, police said.
On Oct. 29, police say Patrick confronted an employee of SunTrust Bank, located at 1475 Rockville Pike in Rockville, near a parking garage located at 198 Halpine Road.
The employee was forced at gunpoint to enter Patrick's vehicle, police say. Patrick drove the victim to the victim's car where he stole property before tying up the victim and placing him in the trunk of the suspect's car.
Police say Patrick, 45, then drove to the SunTrust location where the victim was removed from the trunk and forced to enter the branch using his keys. Once inside, the suspect confronted a second employee and removed money from the cash drawer before fleeing the scene.
Further investigation into recent armed robberies led detectives to also charge Patrick with two armed robberies that occurred at the Dollar Tree located at 1776 E. Jefferson Street in Rockville, police said.
In these cases, a suspect armed with a gun confronted an employee near closing. These robberies occurred on August 17 and October 19.
