Video: Janitor Accused of Locker Room Spying

Josh Andrew Greenberg, age 28, of Gaithersburg, has been charged with two counts of surveillance with prurient intent, officials said.

ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County police say they have charged a middle school service worker in connection with peeping tom incidents.

Josh Andrew Greenberg, age 28, of Gaithersburg, has been charged with two counts of surveillance with prurient intent, officials said.

Greenburg is a building service worker at the Herbert Hoover Middle School in Rockville, where police say the incidents occurred.

Police say two female students told school personnel that two peeping tom incidents occurred at the school, once on or around October 1 and once on November 6.

There is a staff office at the school that has a window with blinds that looks into the girls' locker room. Greenberg looked through the window to observe girls changing, officials said.

School surveillance video shows Greenberg as the suspect. During police questioning, officials say he admitted to the two incidents.

Montgomery County Public Schools have placed Greenberg on administrative leave.

Principal of Hoover Middle School sent the following letter to parents:

Dear Parents,

I am writing to inform you that one of our building service workers was arrested yesterday on charges that he inappropriately observed students in the locker room on Wednesday afternoon after school hours. After these allegations were brought to our attention by the students, we immediately contacted the police, MCPS and the parents of the students involved. The employee has been placed on administrative leave, and an investigation by the MCPS Office of Human Resources and Development is being conducted.

While I know this is very upsetting news for our school community, I want to ensure you that the safety and security of our students is our top priority. We have not had any previous reports regarding this type of behavior by this employee, and as soon as these allegations were raised, we took swift action.

At Hoover, we take pride in ensuring the safety and wellness of all our students.  We are proud that students had the courage to come forward and share this information with the staff who they have come to trust and respect.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Yong-Mi Kim
Principal, Hoover Middle School
