MIAMI (WUSA9) -- On the fourth day of deliberations, a South Florida jury reached a verdict in the case of a man accused of fatally shooting Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor.
The jury has found Eric Rivera Jr. of Fort Myers guilty of Second Degree Murder. Rivera Jr. was also found guilty of Burglary of a Dwelling.
Rivera Jr. is set to be sentenced on December 10 in a Florida courtroom.
He faced life in prison if convicted of killing Taylor during a botched November 2007 burglary at the player's Miami-area home.
Rivera confessed to police on videotape that he shot Taylor after kicking in a bedroom door, but he later said in court that investigators coerced his confession. He also claimed someone else shot Taylor.
Four other men were charged in the case. One has pleaded guilty and the others will stand trial later.
