PASADENA, Md. (AP/WUSA9) -- A lawyer for Maryland Del. Don Dwyer says his client was involved in a car accident in Pasadena and has suffered injuries.
Attorney David Fischer told The Associated Press that Dwyer was not at fault in the collision, which occurred Tuesday on Magothy Bridge Road at Route 100.
Fischer didn't know the extent of Dwyer's injuries but said he was seeking medical treatment.
Misti Lynn Boggs, 29 was attempting to make a left hand turn at a red signal from Rt. 100 E/B onto Magothy Bridge Rd when Boggs car crashed into a Cadillac Deville that was being driven by Delegate Don Dwyer. Del. Dwyer's car struck the Chevy Camero, on its passenger side. His vehicle was towed since it was not in a condition to be driven, police said.
Fischer said Tuesday's car collision did not involve alcohol and according to preliminary investigation the drive at fault is Boggs.
Boggs has been fined for 'Failing to control speed to avoid collision' and 'Failure to obey traffic control device', police said.
Dwyer was sentenced Friday to 60 days in jail for drunkenly operating a boat in a river crash that injured seven last year and for driving a car while impaired in August.
