BALTIMORE (WUSA9) -- Police say a former administrative member of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department has been charged with second degree child abuse and other charges.
Preston Lamont Scott II was charged with multiple counts of Second Degree Child Abuse, Sex Abuse of a Minor, First, Second, Third and Fourth Degree Sex Offenses, Perverted Practice, Sodomy, and Child Pornography Filming Sex Act, stemming from an investigation that started in August, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Scott is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $22,000,000 bail.
Police say they have evidence that Scott sexually abused two children he knew during a six year period.
Scott had been an administrative member of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department, who organized their monthly teen dance fundraiser, according to police. Police say there's no indication at this point that Scott had inappropriate contact with any child at the dances. Fire department leaders know about Scott's arrest and have been cooperative with authorities, sya police.
Police ask anyone with information or concerns to call Detective Andrea Perkinson at 410-222-3479.
