ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Virginia Lottery officials are encouraging a person with a winning ticket worth $100,000 to come forward. That person's ticket is about to expire.
Officials say someone bought a ticket for the May 2, 2013, Cash 5 drawing at 7-Eleven at 5834 North King's Highway in Alexandria. That ticket was a $100,000 winner, but no one has claimed their prize yet.
The winning numbers were 6-15-18-23-32. The ticket matched all five numbers.
The person with the ticket should call the Virginia Lottery at 804-692-7777 or 703-494-1501.
Officials say winning tickets in Virginia expire 180 days after the drawing. This expiration date for this ticket is October 29.
According to officials, Virginia Lottery unclaimed prize money goes to the state's Literary Fund, which is used for educational purposes, such as upgrading technology in schools and teacher retirement funding.
