LANHAM, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland State Police are investigating a serious crash that shut down the Inner Loop in Lanham Thursday morning.
According to police, a tractor trailer towing a recreational vehicle was traveling south on the Inner Loop around 4:00 a.m. with another tractor trailer towing a double-wide nearby. Officials say the RV being towed by the first tractor trailer collided with the second one. At some point during the incident, the RV detached from it's hauler and came to rest across the lanes of the Inner Loop. That's when a southbound GMC Acadia t-boned the mobile home.
Officials have identified the driver of the Acadia as Money B Spivey, 63, of Trenton, New Jersey.
Spivey was transported to Prince George's Hospital in critical condition. Authorities say he is now listed in critical but stable condition.
All southbound lanes are open at MD 450. Officials say the right lane will be briefly blocked again once an additional trailer arrives.
