ELKRIDGE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Three people are charged with human trafficking and other charges in two cases in Howard County, say police. Police say in both cases 24-year-old women were the victims.

In the first case, a woman with injuries to her face and neck went to a fire station in Sykesville for help on Oct. 3. Police were notified, and when they arrived at the scene, she reportedly told them that her pimp had beaten her. Police later determined that her pimp was 32-year-old Craig Okeido Anderson.

According to the woman, Anderson had been her pimp for two years. She said he made her perform sex acts on men in several states and then give him the money. She also said that Anderson regularly assaulted her, say police. The woman reportedly told police that Anderson was a pimp for at least two other women and posted ads on Backpage.com to get customers.

Police say the woman gave them a description of Anderson and his car and they were able to find out that he was staying at a hotel in Anne Arundel County. They arrested him during a traffic stop, according to police. An assault rifle and loaded magazine were discovered concealed in the lining of the car's trunk, say police.

Anderson faces charges for human trafficking, prostitution and assault and is being held on $75,000 bond, say police.

A day after the woman was discovered at the fire station, police say another woman walked into an Elkridge gas station to report that she was kidnapped by a man and woman from Rhode Island three days earlier. She told police the couple befriended her and gave her money to help them sell some items. When she got in their car, they drove her to Connecticut, say police.

Police say that's when Gary Eugene Maddox told her she would have sex with customers for money or he would harm or kill her. Amina R. Philip then took photos of the woman and posted them on Backpage.com, according to police. Police say the woman was forced to have sex with men in various states and give the money to Maddox and Philip.

Again, the victim was able to describe the suspects and the car. Police say they found the black Mercedes in the Elkridge area and Philip and Maddox were arrested. Philip and Maddox are both charged with human trafficking and prostitution, say police. Maddox was also charged with kidnapping. According to police, Phillip is being held on $750,000 bond and Maddox is being held on $1 million.
