GAMBRILLS, Md. (WUSA9) -- A store employee was punched in the face when he confronted a man that appeared to be stealing cell phones, say Anne Arundel County police. The same man also reportedly hit a customer with a station wagon.
The incident happened on Sunday at approximately 1:45 p.m. at the Sprint Mobile Rev store in the 2300 block of Brandermill Boulevard in Gambrills.
Police say customers saw a man concealing cell phones. A store employee then confronted the man and asked that he return the phones. According to police, the man then punched the employee in the face and ran from the store.
Customers chased after the suspect, who entered a white station wagon, possibly a Ford Taurus, say police. According to witnesses, another suspect was in the passenger seat. The man also struck a customer with his vehicle, and fled the shopping center, say police. The vehicle may have Washington D.C. plates "EE5763," according to police.
The customer suffered "superficial injuries," say police.
The first suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 50 years old with a medium to heavy build. He was approximately 5'10" tall. He had a gold front tooth, and wearing a blue flannel shirt, jeans and a baseball cap, according to police.
The second suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 150 pounds, wearing a red shirt, say police.
