Frank Helsel of Pasadena, Md. charged with auto theft and driving suspended and revoked
PASADENA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Anne Arundel County Police say a traffic stop for a stolen vehicle resulted in the arrest of a Pasadena, Md. man on Sunday morning.
According to police, an officer on patrol at Mountain Road and Route 648 at approximately 6:30 a.m. saw a late model red Chevrolet Chevelle matching the description of a stolen vehicle that was taken in a burglary from a home in the 8100 block of Elizabeth Road in Pasadena on Saturday.
Once the officer confirmed that the Chevelle was stolen, he stopped it on Mountain Road near Freetown Road, say police.
The officer then found that the driver, 36-year-old Frank William Helsel of Pasadena had his privilege to drive in Maryland was suspended and revoked, according to police. Helsel was then placed under arrest for auto theft and driving suspended and revoked.
Police say the owner of the vehicle has been reunited with his vehicle.
Helsel has been linked to the burglary, say police.
