WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Metro says it "is experiencing intermittent network issues that are affecting several customer-facing systems" on Thursday. Platform displays in stations are not showing train arrival times. There were phone line issues at the customer information center, but officials say those issues have been resolved.
Metro says the issues are not affecting "rail safety-critical systems" and trains continue to run.
Officials encourage anyone needing Metro Transit Police assistance to call 911 until further notice. Metro officials say local police and fire departments know about the issue.
Metro's website, wmata.com, "has been experiencing intermittent downtime over the past hour and may not be available," according to officials.
