RESTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man has been charged for setting his home on fire, say Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a single family home in the 12300 block of Lima Lane in Reston on Monday at approximately 5 a.m. Officials say they found a small fire in the basement of the home and quickly extinguished the fire.
Two people inside were able to get out after they smelled smoke. Officials say one man was treated at the scene.
Later, fire investigators charged 35-year-old Richard Yergovich, who lives at the home with burning or destroying a dwelling or house, and burning personal property of more than $200. They charges are Class 4 felonies, say officials.
Officials tell us that Yergovich is being held in the Fairfax County.
