COLUMBIA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Howard County police say they have arrested and charged seven teenagers as adults in the assault and robbery of a Columbia teen earlier this month.
The 16-year-old male victim was walking in the area of Hayshed Lane and Yellowrose Court in Columbia on Aug. 2 shortly after 10 a.m. when a group of male teenagers riding in a black SUV approached him, report police. The teens exited the car and began punching and stomping him, according to police. The 16-year-old told officers the other teens stole his iPhone and cash.
The victim suffered a fractured jaw in the assault, say police, and was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has since been released, according to police.
Detectives later identified 17-year-old Drew Jeremiah Abraham, who drives a 2003 black Ford Explorer, as a possible suspect. Six other suspects were later identified, but police say there may be additional suspects.
The following people have been charged with first- and second-degree assault, robbery, theft and reckless endangerment:

• Jeffrey Michelet Francois, 18
• Davon Phillip Jones, 16

The suspects, who are all from Laurel, have been released on bond, say police
