BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Anne Arundel County police say someone reported seeing a registered sex offender walking with a 13-year-old child last week and it lead to more charges for the offender.
The incident happened on August 19. Officers responded to the 5100 block of 4th Street in Brooklyn Park for a reported suspicious subject call. A resident told them she witnessed a known registered sex offender walking into a nearby wooded area with the child. Another resident went to the woods and brought the child back to their house until police arrived, say police. The child was then reunited with his family, according to police.
Detectives conducted interviews and determined that 78-year-old Ray Roland Porter drove the child to a location and touched him inappropriately on two separate occasions, say police. Police say they also learned that an incident may have occurred in a nearby jurisdiction involving an adult victim.
A warrant was issued charging Porter with two counts of Third Degree Sex Offense, two counts of Fourth Degree Sex Offense and two counts of Second Degree Assault, say police. Porter was taken into custody on August 24 in Glen Burnie.
