WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Nearly 3 years later, Metropolitan Police Department officials say they have arrested a suspect in the death of 19-year-old Kelvin Willis.
Willis was found stabbed in the unit block of N Street NW on November 6 2010 at 3:30 a.m., say police, but was actually stabbed in the unit block of Hanover Place NW. Willis was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries on November 22, 2010, according to police.
Then, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, police say they located the suspect in Willis' death. At approximately 2:40 p.m. Wednesday police say members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 20-year-old Ladonte Hawkins of Northeast D.C. They had an arrest warrant charging him with first degree murder.
