(WUSA9) -- A spokesperson with the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office confirms that they have a suspect in Sarah Greenhalgh's murder. The spokesperson would not identify the person because of the active investigation but said that authorities would make an announcement in the future.
The 48-year-old Winchester star reporter was found dead of a gunshot wound inside her Upperville, Va. home on July 9, 2012. Firefighters discovered her body after responding to a fire there, and investigators later determined the fire was deliberately set.
Recently unsealed Fauquier County Circuit Court documents show officers have used 18 search warrants in the case. Northern Virginia Daily reports that two warrants focus on a Gainesville man, but again, he has not been named as a suspect. Officers have also looked at e-mail and Facebook accounts, computers and phone records in the case.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to please call the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 540-422-8650.
