OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police have arrested a man in connection with a murder in Oxon Hill.

Shawn Josef Turner, 45, of Southeast, D.C., faces charges of manslaughter and first degree assault for the death of 52-year-old Derrick Ricardo Espeut, officials said.

On August 21 at about 1:30 a.m., police found the victim at his residence in the 4500 block of Wheeler Road after responding to a call for a fight, officials said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminary investigation suggests Turner and Espeut began to argue while attending a party. Detectives believe Turner punched Espeut, who then struck his head and fell to the ground, officials said.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
