RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- Over 10,000 excited Redskins fans came out to training camp to support their team, but one woman left in tears.
Kimberly Lewis from Richmond posted a tearful YouTube video, crying because she wasn't able to get any players' autographs. Lewis contacted CBS6 to share her video and negative experience. The video has since gone viral.
"I just spent all day at the Redskins training camp for nothing," she wailed.
Lewis said that she took the day off work and that she'd been at the training facility since 6:30. The video was recorded around 12:00. Even though she stood in the front, none of the players came to her side of the field, and she left without any autographs.
"I'm so disappointed in the Redskins right now," Lewis said. "I've been a fan my whole life."
"Do not come to the Redskins training camp," Lewis said. "It's a waste of time. You won't get an autograph, you'll just wind up wasting your time."
Of the fans seeking autographs, the youngest fans at training camp often get the most attention. This year, the Redskins introduced a new tradition by inviting a young fan to escort players back into the facility after each practice. But for the rest of the spectators, it's a toss-up.
What do you think? Was Lewis' video genuine, or was it a ploy for Internet attention? We're not sure, but as one YouTube user commented, "If you're disappointed by the Redskins now, wait until the season starts."
