A man was gunned down Wednesdday afternoon in the stairwell of his apartment building int he 400 block of North Armistead Street. Officers got there to find the shooter gone and 40-year- old Bradley Bostick dead.
People are saying Bostick was a kind man and didn't have enemies. Family members say he would literally give you the shirt off his back and was always there to help out. They don't know how this could have happened and police still don't have a motive at this point.
Family members say the shooting happened at the end of the work day. Bostick had just returned home from a moving job. Police are telling us the 40-year-old father of three and grandfather of two was shot several times in the chest around 5:30 Wednesday evening.
At the murder scene, a fight broke out with a family member and another relative passed out, overcome by grief.
Bostick was hoping and working to see one of his daughters graduate from college.
Candice Lewis shares a daughter with the shooting victim. She described the 40-year-old as a peaceful man, and they can't think of anyone or any reason why this would happen.
"He didn't deserve what happened to him, and another good person is taken away for no reason at all," she said.
Police are hoping someone here who saw something and knows something will have the courage to come forward with the information they need.
According to a press release, the death has been ruled as a homicide after an autopsy performed this morning by the Northern Virginia Medical Examiner.
