Police chase in Virginia leaves 2 in custody

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA) -- U.S. Park Police say a routine traffic stop led to a police chase.

It began at 14th St. and Madison near the National Mall around Friday at 8:00 p.m. 

Officials say the car was stopped then sped off across the 14th St. Bridge on the way to Route 1 in Arlington. Then it crashed by S. 23rd. St.

According to authorities, two people are in custody. No officers were injured. There's no word what the original traffic stop was for.
