ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland Natural Resources Police have found the body a 27-year-old man reported missing Thursday in the Magothy River.
According to NRP, seven people on a boat reported 27-year-old Nate Young missing at approximately 6:10 p.m on July 4. They told officials he had been swimming between Gibson Island and Dobbins Island.
The body was found around 6:00 p.m. the next day.
The people on the boat said they tried to help him to safety but were unable to because they were struggling to stay above water, according to NRP.
The search was called off for the night at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Early Friday, Maryland State Police Aviation, Anne Arundel County Fire Boat 19 and the United States Coast Guard continued their search.
NRP says Young is originally from Michigan but moved to Annapolis recently.
