ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities say they have charged a driver after a dump truck struck a tree and overturned in Ashburn on Tuesday.
Authorities say 73-year-old Floyd Purdue of Sterling is charged with reckless driving after losing control of the truck in the 19500 block of Belmont Ridge Road on Tuesday afternoon.
According to authorities, Purdue was driving north when he came upon stopped traffic and while attempted to avoid the traffic, he lost control, struck a tree, and overturned the truck on Route 659 near Route 7. Authorities say the dump truck was loaded with concrete sand.
Traffic was impacted for approximately four hours.
