CHANTILLY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say 24-year-old Haseeb Raza of Chantilly was fatally stabbed by his a 20-year-old brother on Tuesday morning. The brother also suffered injuries in the incident and police now say he has succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, 20-year-old Mohammad H. Raza stabbed Haseeb Raza in the upper body in a home in the 4100 block of Travers Court. A 61-year-old family member tried to intervene and was also stabbed in the upper body, say police. That family member was able to flee downstairs, away from the scene. He is recovering from his injuries.
Police say it appears Mohammad Raza then shot himself in the upper body. He was being treated for life-threatening injuries, but was pronounced dead at noon on Thursday, say police.
Haseeb Raza died at the hospital on Tuesday, say police. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death.
No one else inside the home was involved or injured, according to police.
