James Dejay Toliver Dies In Police Cruiser Collision In Md.

BOWIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A spokesperson says a driver has died after a crash involving a Prince George's County police officer early Wednesday morning.

Corporal Michael Mogavero's cruiser collided with another vehicle at approximately 3:05 a.m. on Rt. 197 (Collington Rd.) at London Lane, says the police department spokesperson. The cruiser hit the driver's side of the other car.

Police say the driver, 32-year-old James Dejay Toliver of Upper Marlboro, died from his injuries at the hospital.

Corporal Mogavero is a nine-year veteran assigned to the Special Operations Division.
