ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Thursday, two people were arrested for a string of home burglaries in St. Mary's County.
According to St. Mary's County detectives, 22-year-old Jonathan C. Gardner of Mechanicsville, Md. and Megan N. Thompson, 21, of Valley Lee, Md. were arrested after a trend was identified in multiple datytime home burglaries throughout the northern portion of St. Mary's County. According to officials, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Crime Analysts compiled statistical data about the methods used in the burglaries and from that detectives were able to identify suspects.
The detectives then recovered items that had been stolen, say officials.
Gardner and Thompson are charged with 3 counts of First Degree Burglary, 2 counts of Theft $10,000 - $100,000, Theft $1,000 - $10,000 and Malicious Destruction of property less than $500, according to authorities.
Thompson and Gardner are being held at the detention center on $10,000 bond each, say officials. Authorities say they also have additional charges pending against them in Anne Arundel and Charles County for similar daytime residential burglaries.
