WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Is there a real life pretty woman scenario going on in the DC area?  We started this week's At Large with Carol Joynt with something sort of similar to the Julia Roberts - Richard Gere film.

Joynt told us, "This is how I started my workweek. I noticed this posting. Somebody sent it to me. It was somebody looking for an executive social companion ... to go to parties with him and to bring other social skills."

It's a paid position. "It's starting pay is $15 to $20 an hour," said Joynt.

The man who put up the post goes by the name Drew Frederick. "He lives in Arlington. He's a lawyer and adventurer. I reached out and had him contact me because I thought I had to do a story on this. I checked back with him yesterday. He has had 50 applicants. He's actually offered the job to somebody so I said to him, I said, you know, 'are you inspired by Pretty Woman? Does this involve sex?' There was this long pause. He said 'no, it doesn't involve sex but I guess people would think that.' ...He has a girlfriend."

In other news, Carol Burnett is getting the Mark Twain Award at the Kennedy Center this fall. "She definitely qualifies. I had to write down her quotes because I love them so much.... she says it's almost impossible to be funnier than the people in Washington."

The new issue of Washingtonian magazine 'Bikes and Hikes' is out now on news stands. At the very top you'll see the ultimate guide to local beer. It takes a look at the lowest alcohol content and highest. "Two pages after that is fried chicken," added Joynt.
