WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A child and an adult are injured after a car in a police chase out of Prince George's County hit a school bus in DC.
According to police, the crash at approximately 7:42 a.m. involved a vehicle in a police chase out of Prince George's County and a school bus. The suspect car hit the bus head on in the 500 block of Ridge Road.
A police spokesperson says DC School Bus #BE3374 was occupied by two children and two adults. One adult and one child receive non- life threatening, minor injuries, says the spokesperson.
Police say two suspects bailed out at Texas Avenue and Ridge Road, but police were able to catch one fo them. The other suspect is still at large.
Prince George's County police say a carjacking of a gray Mercedes 350 CLK was reported in District Heights earlier in the morning, at 7:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of Seton Way. According to police, two suspects wearing ski masks approached the victim. At least one of the suspects had a handgun when they demanded the victim's vehicle, say police. The victim complied with their demands. Minutes later, police say officers got behind the carjacked vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspects failed to pull over. So, a chase ensued into D.C., where the suspect vehicle crashed, say police. A handgun was recovered at the scene when a suspect was caught, according to police.
DDOT personnel also responded to the scene.
