WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A student was arrested after recording a woman in the shower at George Mason University, police say.
On May 3rd, the student was showering in the Madison Residence Hall on the Fairfax Campus when she noticed a cell phone peeking under the shower curtain, the GMU Police Department PIO George Ginovsky said.
The suspect was chased by another male student after he was discovered filming but got away, Ginovsky said.
GMU identified the suspect as Muayad Ibrahim through surveillance video and his student ID card, which he used to get into the dorm. Other students were also able to identify him since he lives in the same dorm, Ginovsky said.
Ibrahim was later arrested and charged with unlawful filming without permission. He was jailed on a $2,500 secure bond but later posted bail.
He is due in court on June 19.
