LUSBY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man who had more than 4,000 images and 1,000 videos of child pornography was sentenced on Tuesday to six years in prison.
The U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland says a judge sentenced 48-year-old Shawn Fred Crawford of Lusby, Md. to prison time plus 10 years of supervised release. Crawford will also have to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
The U.S. Attorney says that according to his plea agreement, last summer Crawford distributed six images and 16 videos depicting children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. After an investigation, the FBI executed a search warrant at his home in September and seized computers and other digital media. Agents found approximately 4,700 images and 1,100 videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, including children under the age of 12, according to the plea agreement.
