LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead in a vehicle on Sunday afternoon in Lexington Park.
Authorities say that on Sunday at 1:44 p.m. officers responded to the Pegg Road Shell station for the report of someone seated in a vehicle unresponsive.
Detectives found out that an employee of the Pegg Rd. Shell had seen a man sitting in the front seat of a vehicle in the parking lot for a long time, and decided to go to the vehicle to speak to the man. The employee discovered the man was unresponsive and called police, according to authorities.
Officers found the man, later identified as 32-year-old Travis H. Smith of Lexington Park, was dead. Authorities say Smith did not appear to have any visible injuries.
Smith was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death, say authorities.
