ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- If you're planning to take the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge on Sunday, then you might want to think again.
Virginia Department of Transportation authorities say the bridge will close from 8:20 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the filming of a movie.
According to film.dc.gov, "The Theodore Roosevelt Bridge plays an integral role in the storyline. Aerial photography will be used to capture various angels of the bridge. While in the nation's capital the production company will film other iconic sites."
The movie was not named in any of the press releases.
VDOT is encouraging drivers to use the Key, Memorial or 14th Street bridges to get into D.C. Officials say drivers trying to get from Virginia via I-66, Route 50 or the George Washington Parkway will be detoured.
There are three options for Virginia drivers heading into D.C. from I-66, says VDOT:
1. Take I-66 East to Route 110 to the 14th Street Bridge
2. Take I-66 East to Exit 73/Lee Highway to the Key Bridge
3. Take I-66 East to Exit 72 to Spout Run Parkway to George Washington Parkway to the Memorial Bridge
Drivers headed from D.C. to I-66 can use the same options in reverse, say officials.
Message signs on I-66 will be up as far west as Centreville to let drivers know about the alternate routes. Police officers will also be present at several places on Route 50, I-66 and the GW Parkway.
