Stabbing Suspect Also Treated For Wounds In Anne Arundel Co.

CROWNSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Anne Arundel County police say both the suspect and victim in a stabbing on Sunday morning were treated at the hospital.

According to police, 18-year-old Eric Christopher Halstad of Millersville, Md. got into an argument with a 20-year-old man outside a home in the 700 block of Whitneys Landing Drive in Crownsville early Sunday morning. The argument escalated, say police, and Halstad stabbed the victim with a knife in the lower body. At some point, Halstad also suffered a minor laceration, according to police.

Both Halstad and victim were transproted to Anne Arundel Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening stab wounds. Halstad was treated and released, then arrested, say police.

Police tell us that Halstad was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and other charges.
