Fire-rescue crews, police at Lovettsville Elementary School investigating a suspicious package on April 26, 2013
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- According to an official, Loudoun County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a reported hazardous materials incident at the Lovettsville Elementary School on Friday morning.
The official says at approximately 8:56 a.m. Friday, a call was received for a potential hazardous materials incident after a package containing a powdery substance was opened at the school.
The school was evacuated, says the official, and no injuries were reported.
Fire-rescue crews determined the package was harmless. Crews are leaving the scene.
