14-Year-Old Escapes After Abduction Attempt In Md.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police are on the lookout for a pair of men they say tried to kidnap a 14-year old boy on Monday. 

The teen had been out for a jog along the 500 block of Midsummer drive in Gaithersburg when according to investigators he was approached by a white van.

One of the two men inside jumped out and tried to strong arm the teen pulling him towards the van. The teen was able to break loose and run away before calling for police.

"This type of occurrence happening here is out of place," Gaithersburg police spokesman officer Dabln Lane said.

The neighborhood where this happened is said to be a quite place with little to no crime.

Police are looking for what looks like a painters style white van.

According to police, the man that jumped out at the teen is described as being Hispanic, about six feet tall with a goatee, and was wearing a white t-shirt and white pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gaithersburg Police.
