FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax authorities say a Maryland man was sentenced to 30 years with 15 years suspended for robbing a Denny's in Virginia on New Year's Day 2012.
According to authorities, the robbery happened on the morning of January 1, 2012 at the Denny's restaurant at 10473 Fairfax Boulevard.
Colin Thomas Bowie of Chevy Chase, Md. took out a handgun and ordered the assistant manager into an officek, where he told him to open a safe and give him money, say authorities. The manager complied with the demands and Bowie fled out of the back door.
Bowie was found a little more than a month later by Takoma Park Police and charged with armed robbery.
