ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) -- One Maryland company could be sending away hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars to another state because of the controversial gun ban.

LWRC International may take $40 million worth of tax revenues and hundreds of jobs out of state if a gun ban makes it through the state House.

The owner Dick Bernstein said, "This is money that we are bringing in and spending locally."

The gunmaker produces thousands of rifles each year and possibly forced to shut down its eastern shore factories. They would then have to move to another state if the firearms which they produce are banned from sale in Md.

The 5-year-old company currently employees over 300 people in a part of Maryland that has been hit hard by recession.

Bobbi Nelson is one of the employees who grew up in the area.

"This is where I wanted to live permanently and have my family and my kids grow up, so having to move from this area is just heart breaking," she said.

The Maryland Gun Ban bill may come for a vote on the house of delegates as early as Friday.
