SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9)-- It's been a week since 24-year old Paul Tanoh was gunned down outside a DC night club.

Police say it all happened last Thursday shortly after 2 A.M. outside Balletto's night club on the corner of L and 17th street in downtown D.C., just four blocks away from the White House.

When police got there Tanoh had been shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Now his father, Jean Raymond Tanoh is speaking exclusively to WUSA9, asking for police or anyone with information in son's murder to come forward and provide the closure he and his family need.

He said, "I want the truth to be able to mourn and move on. I want the truth. Who killed my son? Who killed my beautiful boy?"

Police have yet to make any arrests or even name a suspect. Not even a motive has been given by investigators, but the family believes it was the result of a fight inside the club that spilled out onto the streets.

Tanoh's family says the 24-year old was inside the club just before he was shot. They tell WUSA9 he was with a group of people including women, and according to witness accounts Tanoh may have been protecting the women from unwanted advances from other men. They believe that led to an escalation that ultimately resulted in the shooting.

His stepmother Erline Tanoh said, "He was the type of person who was always looking out for women and making sure they weren't treated badly."

Tanoh, is being remembered as a bit of a renaissance man. His family says he was an artist, fashion designer, and a chef.

The family plans on flying his body to his native Ivory Coast where he will be buried alongside his mother.
