(WUSA9) -- Friday morning, crews were out changing speed limit signs on the westbound Intercounty Connector (ICC) in Maryland.
Maryland Transportation Authority officials say crews are changing speed limit signs on the Intercounty Connector on Friday and Saturday to show the increase from 55 mph to 60 mph.
Officials say signs on the eastbound ICC will be changed on Saturday. Crews will also add signs warning drivers about curves.
Traffic engineers used data from the first year of the ICC to determine that the speed limit could be raised to 60 mph, say officials. You can see the study and crash analysis at mdta.maryland.gov.
