WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A 19-year-old man is charged with misdemeanor sexual abuse for an incident at L'Enfant Plaza in January, say Metro Transit Police. They say he is accused of sexually assaulting the same woman twice -- once in January and once in February -- while she was riding Metro rail but that Williams is only charged with the January assault.
According to Metro Transit Police, on January 29, Williams allegedly grabbed the woman from behind while she was waiting on the New Carrollton/Largo Town Center platform. She reportedly got away from him to board the train.
Then, on February 2, Williams allegedly approached the same woman and touched her inappropriately at the emergency doors of an Orange Line train headed to Vienna. This time, a bystander intervened and used the emergency intercom to contact the train operator, say Metro Transit Police. Metro Transit Police were requested and Williams ran off of the train, say police.
After a bulletin was issued to all officers with Williams' description and photo, he was arrested on Thursday by Metro Transit Police. Friday, he was charged for the L'Enfant Plaza. Charges are pending for the second incident, say police.
