Person being removed from construction site accident (@IAFF36 via Twitter)
WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police report that a person's foot was injured during an industrial accident in the 900 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW on Thursday morning.
Fire officials say they received a call for an injured person on a construction site at approximately 7:10 a.m. They say the person was 7 stories below ground.
According to fire officials, crews used a crane that was already on site to lift the person out.
The person had a "lower extremity injury," says a fire official, and was transported to a local hospital.
The westbound 900 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW was closed temporarily, but has since reopened
