(WUSA9) -- According to Howard County police, a family of five locked themselves in a bedroom after an armed man came into their Jessup, Md. home early Wednesday morning.
Police officials say the woman called them from an upstairs bedroom at 2:19 a.m. She and her family members, including two adults and two teens, locked themselves there after the man entered the home in the 7300 block of Montevideo Road, say police.
Police say they stayed on the phone with the woman during the incident and ten minutes later, officers made their way into the home. Police say officers found evidence of forced entry at the front door but no man.
Police say the family was not harmed.
At this time, police believe the home was targeted, but they continue to investigate.
