WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) - There are a lot of petitions that are submitted on the White House government website.
Petitions submitted by citizens having to do with heavy issues like raising suicide awareness and ending political corruption.
And now, joining those petitions, is one that quite possibly could gain hundreds, thousands, heck, even millions of backers: The petition to "change the national anthem to R. Kelly's 2003 hit "Ignition (Remix)."".
Let that soak in for a moment. That's right people: There is a petition on the White House website to get the national anthem changed to R. Kelly's "Ignition (Remix)".
"We, the undersigned, would like the Obama administration to recognize the need for a new national anthem, one that even a decade after its creation, is still hot and fresh out the kitchen. America has changed since Francis Scott Key penned our current anthem in 1814," The petition reads.
"President Obama: we ask you to recognize the evolution of this beautiful country," The petition later states. "And give us an anthem that better suits the glorious nation we have become."

It currently has more than 1,200 signatures and has set a goal of 100,000 signatures by April 2, 2013.
America: What a country.
