ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities say the driver involved in a reported hit and run crash that injured a 15-year-old high school student has been identified.
While he was trying to cross Claiborne Parkway from the Portsmouth Boulevard side to the Breezyhill Drive side, the teen boy was struck by a vehicle at approximately 4:15 p.m. last Friday, say authorities. According to authorities, the driver was reportedly making a right turn from Portsmouth Boulevard onto Claiborne Parkway when the teen was hit in the crosswalk.
The driver reportedly stopped the car and spoke to some bystanders before taking off.
The teenager was taken to a hospital by a family member and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, say sheriff's office authorities.
Authorities say the case is under investigation and it's being reviewed with the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney.
