WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Three men are charged with burglary after allegedly zip-tying and assaulting a man at his home on Saturday morning in Woodbridge, Va.
According to police, at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 12900 block of Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge for an assault stemming from a burglary. A man told police that he was sleeping in his home when two men entered through an unlocked door and demanded money.
The men reportedly bound the victim with zip-ties and struck him with a blunt object. They then fled the area in a vehicle without taking any property.
The victim was able to get out of the restraints and contact police, according to police. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers found the unoccupied suspect vehicle in the area of Minnieville Rd and Old Bridge Rd, which appeared to have crashed into a pole.
Detectives later identified two suspects as Markus Gardner and Jotham Phillips. Roderick Bolden was also involved in the burglary, say police. They located all three men, who are all charged with burglary and being held without bond.
Police say the burglary does not appear to be random.
