WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Police say two people were stabbed outside an establishment on the 1300 block of U Street NW.

According to police authorities, about 1a.m. Sunday, an altercation that began inside the establishment continued outside on the sidewalk.  A man and a woman were reportedly assaulted with a sharp object and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they have a very vague description of a suspect, a black male about 5 feet 9 inches tall. 

They are still investigating the incident.
