SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- According to Montgomery County Fire officials, an elderly woman was seriously burned in a fire in Silver Spring on Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to a home in the 8500 block of 11th Avenue in Silver Spring at approximately 10:46 a.m. A spokesperson said that firefighters spotted the fire on the first floor of the two-story home.
A spokesperson says someone was cooking at the home before the fire.
A woman suffered serious, life threatening burns and was transported to a burn center. Her condition at this time is unknown.
