WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Federal Agencies in D.C. have the option for unscheduled leave/telework Thursday, OPM has announced on Twitter.

Thursday another low pressure heads our way and now may push rain and snow into the Metro Area Thursday afternoon, meteorologist Topper Shutt says.

A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for the Washington Metro area for Thursday. Rain will change to snow late Thursday morning into the afternoon. The evening commute could get messy.

Critical time for wintry weather: 3 PM - 9 PM. One to four inches of snow is possible by late Thursday night. Surface temperatures will favor melting but if we get a burst of heavy snow the roads will become covered and slick. Temperatures may fall below freezing Thursday night so re-freezing could be an issue for the Friday morning commute.
