(WUSA) -- Four people are without a home after a fire started from a live Christmas tree and spread to their home, say Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department officials.

Firefighters responded to a house on fire at approximately 3:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 12300 block of Copenhagen Court in the Fox Mill area. They saw smoke and fire coming from the back of the home and went inside to attack the fire, but a weakened and unsafe floor made them go back outside to fight the blaze.

From there, the firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 35 minutes.

Fire officials say no one was home when the fire broke out and there were no injuries.

Two adults and two children were displaced.

The damage is estimated at $125,000.
